We are honoured that Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche and Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche have accepted our invitation to confer the complete transmissions of the Longchen Nyingtik, the Nyingtik Tsapö, ‘The Core Texts of the Heart Essence’, the event will take place at Lerab Ling Retreat Centre in France. Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche has graciously accepted our request that the oral transmissions (Tib. lung) could be shared online to qualified students. Please check the specific requirements to follow "PART 1: THE LONGCHEN NYINGTIK TSAPÖ" as well as "PART 2: OTHER TRANSMISSIONS" in the sections below.

PROGRAMME OF ORAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLINE

From 12-24 September, every morning, Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche will be granting the reading transmissions of

  1. the entire five volumes of the Longchen Nyingtik Tsapö , and

  2. a number of additional transmissions more related to the Ngöndro stage of the path (The Words of my Perfect Teacher, Guide to the Words of my Perfect Teacher) and other texts.

NEW: Additionally, Rabjam Rinpoche’s teachings (tri-lung) on the topics of ngöndro, kyerim, practising in retreat, and Dzogchen for ‘beginners’ will also be streamed after the lunch break. These teachings are only open to students who fulfil the requirements of part 1.
The tri-lung sessions will start after the lunch break, once the empowerments start we will end the Zoom call.

PART 1: THE LONGCHEN NYINGTIK TSAPÖ -> check access requirements

The lungs from the Shechen edition of the Nyingtik Tsapö are compiled into five volumes. The first three volumes contain the works of Jigme Lingpa and volumes 4 and 5 the works of other Longchen Nyingtik masters, such as the First Dodrupchen, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Teachings with Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche (tri-lung)

Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche will teach on the following texts in the form of a tri-lung

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND PART 1 (lung and tri-lung)

  1. You have ALREADY received the main Longchen Nyingtik empowerments (by participating in a transmission of the entire cycle, or by receiving the main empowerments over the years).

  2. You commit to attending the entire oral transmissions (unless you have already received a certain number of volumes of the Nyingtik Tsapö transmission).

The main Longchen Nyingtik empowerments are:

  • Shyitro (hundred peaceful & wrathful deities)

  • Vajrasattva

  • Rigdzin Düpa

  • Palchen Düpa

  • Takhyung Barwa

  • Dukngal Rangdrol

  • Tiklé Gyachen

  • Yumka Dechen Gyalmo

  • Sengé Dongma

  • Amitabha

For Rigpa students please find the list of empowerments granted to the Rigpa Sangha here. An example of a transmission of the entire cycle of Longchen Nyingtik empowerments would be Yangthang Rinpoche’s event in Lerab Ling, 2-9 August 2012.

PART 2: OTHER TRANSMISSIONS -> check access requirements

We have requested a number of additional transmissions more related to the Ngöndro stage of the path. We hope that Rinpoche will have the time to grant all of them:

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND PART 2

These lungs do not require an empowerment, the only exception is The Treasury of Precious Qualities (Yönten Dzö):

  • Ch 1-9 , which are available in The Treasury of Precious Qualities, Book 1 (Shambhala, revised edition 2010) do not require an empowerment.

  • Ch 10 requires a Shyitro empowerment.

  • Ch. 11-13 require a Dzogchen empowerment such as Tiglé Gyachen, Nyingthik Yabshyi or a similar Dzogchen empowerment.

  • These last 4 chapters are available in The Treasury of Precious Qualities, Book 2 (Shambhala, revised edition 2013)

Please commit to attending entire days of these oral transmissions.

If you are only eligible for attending "Part 2: other transmissions", these lungs are scheduled to take place once the 5 volumes of the Tsapo are complete. Please keep checking this page or here to find out when they will start.

  • The exact list of lungs given each day is not known in advance.

  • The rough plan is for Tulku Rinpoche to start to give the 5 volumes in order, then to grant the additional lungs.

  • An exact list of what has been given every day will be produced at the end of the event.

  • If you are only eligible for attending part 2 other transmissions, these lungs are scheduled to take place once the 5 volumes of the Tsapo are complete.

EVENT CONTRIBUTION - DONATION BASIS

This event is offered on a donation basis, feel free to change the suggested amount in the payment field at the end of the registration process.

Any donations received will be offered to activities of Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche & Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche.

According to tradition, Buddhist teachers always give teachings, transmissions and empowerments for free and students make an offering in return as a sign of their appreciation and gratitude. Therefore you are encouraged to honour this tradition and similarly make an offering to the teacher for the transmissions you receive.

ABOUT TULKU RIGDZIN PEMA RINPOCHE

Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche is a close disciple of Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and an accomplished practitioner.

His main teachers were Rago Choktrul, Pema Kunzang Rangdrol, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche and Penor Rinpoche. He holds the traditions of Adzom Drukpa and Longchen Nyingtik.

Since his escape from Tibet during the early eighties, he stayed mainly with Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche at Shechen Monastery in Nepal as a close disciple and attendant.

He is an expert in making stupas, for which he completed the most important mantra recitations, and has been responsible for the completion of a large number of stupas in Asia, Europe, and the United States. It was Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche who oversaw the reconstruction of the Great Stupa of Boudhanath, after the earthquake of 2015.

In recent years, Tulku Rigdzin Pema Rinpoche has been meticulously guiding the preparation, construction and consecration of Rigpa’s five stupas and has given numerous teachings and transmissions in Rigpa centres, mostly from the Longchen Nyingtik lineage.
